Chapter 10

Years passed.
Leo grew into a fine young man. Strong, gentle, and fiercely loyal.
He graduated with honors. Used his voice to speak for those who had none.
Elena and Mara stood together at every milestone. Hand in hand. Proud.
They had built something beautiful. Out of tragedy, love had grown.
On the twelfth anniversary of the day Elena found him, they returned to the old mansion.
It stood empty now. Quiet.
Leo walked up the driveway. Remembered the golden balloons. The cake in his face. The shame.
But he felt none of it now.
He turned to Elena. Then to Mara.
"Thank you," he said. "For finding me. For saving me. For loving me enough to fight the whole world."
Elena pulled him close.
"You saved yourself too, Leo. That day you stood tall. That day you refused to let them break you."
Mara wiped happy tears from her eyes.
"We are whole now," she said. "Finally."
Leo looked at the two women who had loved him so fiercely.
His birth mother, who never stopped searching.
His second mother, who never stopped hiding and protecting him.
And he realized something beautiful.
Blood did not make family.
Love did.
Sacrifice did.
He took both their hands.
"Come on," he said, smiling. "Let's go home."

And together, they walked away from the past.
Into the bright, beautiful future they had built—together.
