Daniel pled guilty before trial.
Forgery.
Attempted property fraud.
Identity theft.
Coercive control-related intimidation.
Evidence tampering.
He received prison time, restitution, and a permanent protective order.
Victor Lang was indicted separately in the larger property fraud investigation.
The day Daniel was sentenced, I spoke.
“I opened my door and found another woman living inside the life my husband tried to steal from me. But this case is not about jealousy. It is about fraud, entitlement, and the belief that a wife’s signature is just another thing a husband can take.”
My voice shook.
I let it.
“My mother left me a house because she trusted me to keep something of hers alive. Daniel tried to sell that trust with a forged name.”
Daniel cried.
Maybe for himself.
