The news spread fast.
By morning, everyone in town knew.
The robbery. The frame job. The bribe. The recording.
The people who had called me monster now crossed the street for a different reason.
Shame.
Some came to the house. Apologized. Brought food. Said they'd always known there was something wrong.
I didn't believe them.
But I let them speak.

The story detailed everything.
The robbery. The frame. The eight years lost. The beating on the porch. The receipt. The USB drive.
The town was divided.
